Our Responsibility
Bureau Booths – Presented in New Zealand by MSB NZ
Designed for People, Planet, and Performance
At MSB NZ, we’re proud to represent the Bureau range of acoustic booths, a brand that leads the way in sustainable design and responsible manufacturing.
Sustainability is not an afterthought in Bureau’s process, it’s embedded in how every booth is conceived and built. Each product reflects a commitment to environmental care, healthy materials, and long-term performance, supporting projects that target Green Star, WELL, and broader ESG objectives throughout New Zealand.

Healthy Indoor Environments
Bureau booths are constructed using materials independently tested for low-VOC and formaldehyde-free performance, ensuring safe, healthy, and comfortable spaces for everyday use.
- EN 717-1 & GB 18585: Testing confirms “Not Detected” formaldehyde emissions (< 0.08 mg/m³) across acoustic panels, wall laminates, and flooring.
- GB/T 18883: Whole-booth testing verifies compliance for total VOCs, benzene, and formaldehyde during extended use.
These results demonstrate outstanding indoor air quality, aligning with NZGBC Green Star IEQ-13 & 14 and WELL Building Standard X06 benchmarks.
Responsibly Sourced Timber
All plywood used in Bureau booths is FSC® 100% certified, ensuring traceability to responsibly managed forests.
- Certified under FSC Chain of Custody (FSC-STD-40-004 / 50-001), verified by Soil Association Certification Ltd (SA-COC-013630).
- Covers plywood, GLULAM, and composite boards made from sustainable Eucalyptus, Betula, and Pinus species.
This certification supports Green Star MR-01 and WELL v2 X07 pathways for responsibly sourced and transparently documented materials.
Certified Management Systems
Bureau’s manufacturing partners operate under globally recognised ISO management systems, ensuring accountability, quality, and ongoing improvement:
- ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management
- ISO 45001:2018 – Occupational Health & Safety
- ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management
These frameworks underpin sustainable manufacturing practices that meet the expectations of New Zealand government and corporate procurement standards.
Sustainable Furniture Certification
The Bureau booth range is certified to BIFMA LEVEL® 1 & 2 under the ANSI/BIFMA e3-2019 sustainability standard, independently verified by SGS Taiwan.
- Certification applies to all booth series.
- Evaluates material health, energy efficiency, social responsibility, and product stewardship.
- VOC emissions independently tested under ANSI/BIFMA M7.1, confirming ultra-low-emitting finishes.
These third-party certifications demonstrate globally recognised sustainability performance, supporting WELL v2, LEED v4.1, and broader ESG reporting goals.
Circular Design & Longevity
Each Bureau booth is modular, relocatable, and designed for disassembly, reducing waste and extending its lifecycle.
- Components can be refurbished or replaced individually.
- FSC-certified timber and recycled PET minimise reliance on virgin materials
- A cradle-to-grave ISO 14067 lifecycle review measures approximately 4.85 t CO₂e per large booth, offering transparent embodied-carbon data.
This approach reduces environmental impact while delivering exceptional long-term value for clients.
Acoustic Wellbeing
Sustainability also extends to occupant wellbeing. Bureau booths are independently tested to ISO 23351-1:2020 and ASTM E596 / E336, achieving up to 30 dB of speech privacy, reducing distractions and enhancing focus.
These acoustic results support WELL v2 C04 (Acoustic Performance) and Green Star IEQ-06 criteria.
Aligned with New Zealand Procurement Goals
The Bureau sustainability framework aligns with New Zealand Government Procurement Rules and NZGBC Green Star priorities through:
- Verified low-VOC and FSC-certified materials.
- ISO-certified manufacturing and ethical labour standards.
- Durable, relocatable design reducing construction waste.
- Transparent, third-party testing and full traceability documentation.
